The store occupies renovated space inside the same building that is home to the company's headquarters.

A Triad-based not-for-profit home health care agency, Advanced Home Care Inc., has opened its redesigned flagship store in High Point.

Advanced Home Care has re-opened at 4001 Piedmont Parkway, with special grand opening hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. today through Friday. The store will also be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

With more than 30 branches in five states –– the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia and Tennessee –– Advanced Home Care provides both skilled nursing and other in-home health services, as well as medical devices and products.

“Advanced Home Care’s goal is to be a full resource to those who want to age in place. Our stores are an integral part of achieving that goal,” said CEO Joel Mills.

Headquartered in High Point, Advanced Home Care is a joint venture of 11 health systems, including Cone Health and Novant Health here in the Triad, and provides skilled nursing, physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy and more. The company also provides medical equipment to more than 50,000 patients every day.

Retail program manager Scott Turner said the idea behind the new flagship store was to ease some of the stress and anxiety, both for the caregiver or provider and for the patients, in obtaining necessary medical services and equipment.

“We designed this space with the idea of having a better experience when working with people one on one,” Turner said.

The store is located in part of the building that also houses the company’s headquarters. It was renovated to accommodate the 1,500-square-foot retail space. Gastonia-based L&L General Contractor did the work.

“It was renovated to certain flagship design specifications,” Turner explained.

Three full-time employees will staff the store, with a part-time respiratory therapist and power mobility specialists on hand to help customers in need of those services.

Some of the services and products offered at the store include:

• CPAP therapy accessories

• Lift-to-Stand chairs

• Power mobility scooters and vehicle lifts

• Manual and power wheelchairs

• Portable oxygen and supplies

• Health monitoring

• Pain relief and joint support

• Ostomy and wound care

“I am so proud of the new Flagship store in Hight Point,” Mills said. “Our patients and customers deserve a trusted source for solutions to their health care needs and we want to be that provider.”
