HUB to Offer Risk, Compliance Services for Amateur Sports Industry

May 15, 2019

Hub International Limited (HUB), a global insurance brokerage and Player’s Health, a risk management firm specializing in amateur sports, have formed a partnership to provide risk and compliance services designed to help organizations monitor and report injuries and abuse, establish protocols to mitigate risks and improve the overall health and safety of athletes.

The Player’s Health’s Circle of Care Risk Management Suite is an interactive, digital risk management platform that assesses and provides guidance on the best care for the health and well-being of youth athletes.

Circle of Care includes: background check services; injury protocols; rehab assignments; training session monitoring; and private, anonymous abuse and misconduct reporting.

The platform also has a HIPAA compliant interface designed to simplify the flow of youth athlete health information between coach, parent and healthcare provider.

In the U.S., The Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017 was signed into law in early 2018. Since then, real change and adoption has been gradual as many youth sports programs still lack the tools and resources to comply with the act. Similarly in Canada, the federal and provincial governments released strongly worded statements prioritizing actions to eliminate athlete harassment and abuse over the last year.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Hub International Limited is a full-service global insurance broker providing property and casualty, life and health, employee benefits, investment and risk management products and services.

Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Player’s Health is a sports services organization that provides risk management and reporting tools to sports organizations to comply with the changing athletic environment and responsibilities.
